Night hunting for Bobcat to be ended in Lynx recovery areas

I haven't done any night calling, but is this really a concern?  Can't lynx and bobcat be discerned when night hunting or are they so similar looking at night as to warrant this arbitrary new rule?  Lynx recovery area is pretty vast, I found a few maps but for this rule to really be effective it will need to be easy to know if you're in a lynx area or not, so they'll just list GMU's that may or may not have lynx. 

I know 101-113, 204-242  are screwed, probably a bunch of others too.

More lost opportunity.  I've never heard of a lynx shot at night with the use of artifical light..seems this is a solution begging for a problem that doesn't exist.

You would think that with the amount of folks on here running trap lines. Somebody would have posted up a photo of a stray that found it's way into a live trap. I would bet that would make some kind of ripple effect in the news papers as well.

Just went and comment,it's says someone last year shot a lynx at night ,which I figure there case was hard to prosecute cause of night hunting.

I did oppose , and put for comments that why should all hunters be subject to this rule cause of one person mistake.

The FEDS delisted lynx in WA, they aren't endangered WA is just happens to be on the fringe of their habitat.  We don't need to punish everyone due to one hunter not being careful enough with his/her target. 

Always know your target.  It's the same for bears, a few grizz get taken by mistake so now we all have to take a bear identification class if we spring bear hunt in certain GMU's, while other GMU's don't even have a spring bear hunt because someone might shoot a grizz 
   
I can tolerate a class and even encourage it, but I don't/can't tolerate loss of opportunity without a sound scientific reasoning behind it and then I want to see some action to rectify the loss of opportunity and have it reinstated asap.


I'm sick of these nanny "oh someone might do this so we gotta make it illegal" rules.

Totally agree looks like night hunting go away,and I think the bear test is for spring and fall for certain gmu.

I don't mind a bear test, I took the one Dale had on here a few years back and got 100% on it the first try.  At least with a test there's some knowledge being passed on, makes people think and realize that color phase bear might not be legal to shoot.  I'm fine with that.  Take the test and be done with it.

Maybe it should be a lynx test ,instead of taking night hunting away forever,I just bought a light for it at Christmas and haven't even went out yet.
